Cape to Cairo
Paramotoring through Africa
The Cape to Cairo route spans Africa, linking Cape Town, South Africa, to Cairo, Egypt. Originally envisioned as a British colonial railway, it crosses diverse landscapes and nations, including Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, and Sudan. No single railway or road completes this journey.
Paramotor and parasailing pilot Olaf Bleibtreu envisioned flying a paramotor along this legendary route, supported by a team on the road.
He assembled a team that included his brother, a former German military helicopter specialist; Moritz, his longtime friend and cameraman; and me, contributing photography and design support.
Together we planned the first leg of the route for December, starting in South Africa.
